#54 first snow

First snow of 2012 in Central Oregon gave us about a FOOT of the white stuff! Too bad it didn't stick around...we're bare again until the next snow storm. This was taken with my iPhone 4S using the App Hipstamatic.

One of the many beautiful lakes in Central OregonSo as you can see it's going to take me much longer than 365 days to post 365 photos. I've come to the realization that I just can't keep up with it on a daily basis.

# 51 Portland, OR Church

My daughter who lives in the Portland, OR area had taken a couple of pictures of this beautifiul Church. When we went to visit them we happened upon it so I had to take a few shots! It's been "altered" by iPhone Apps, and I just love this one.

OK folks...this is supposed to be SPRING.  This is what I saw out my front door this morning. Really?  I'm so done with winter!

# 49 Sunset of a different color

OK, so it's been a while since I've posted (again) Let me explain my title a bit further. I've recently discovered an iPhone App called Instagram. Man, I'm hooked! Let's say it's a "social App for photography". You simply take pictures, post them on the Instagram feed, "follow" people's feed, and get followers yourself. I have a personal feed which is @oregongma and I also manage a feed for photography in Central Oregon called @igerscentraloregon
Anyway, this photo was taken with my iPhone 4S, and put through an App called camera+
The filter in that App is called purple haze. This photo was taken while driving home from Portland, OR.

This was taken with my iPhone 4S while on our way to visit family in Portland. What looks like a big, bright sun is actually the reflection of the flash! How cool is that?!?!?!

A very charming, "Old World" feel to this place in San Francisco. Family style dining, GREAT food, and the way the place is decorated is eye candy!  Makes my eyes happy!

Picture #44 Wall of Lights

Oh I have so many pictures to catch up on! This was taken in one of the major Hotels in San Francisco while Hubby and I were there for Macworld. It's one of the Hotel's "focal points". It's literally a wall of lights. I took a photography class while at Macworld, and one of the quotes from the teacher of the seminar was that what you photograph should make your eyes happy. This is one of the many things that made my eyes happy!

While in San Francisco for Macworld/iWorld, Hubby and I went to the IMAX theater. WOW, is that screen huge!

I took this with my iPhone...you can see just how BIG the screen is...see the tiny little person at the bottom?

Picture 42 - Winter is here!

Yes, yes...winter FINALLY arrived!  And might I add with a mighty roar! School was cancelled Wednesday (Alas, I still had to go to work)  I'm not sure how much of our snow will melt away with the rain that has followed though.

Day 41 - Sunrise in Central Oregon

What a way to end the week, huh? The picture doesn't do it justice either. It was BEAUTIFUL! Note that we STILL have no snow! It's supposed to snow for the next 5 days though. Finally!

Day 40 - Pizza Time!

This is what you can order at our Thursday night "Date Place". It's our local Pizza joint. Hubby and I have dinner here every week. Our usual is a 3 piece chicken n'spuds (all dark please) and 2 salads, 2 iced teas. Tonight, as we sometimes do, we changed it up and had a small, thick crust (YUM) pizza with our salads. It's DA BOMB...! We love this place! Not only do they serve good food, but we're good friends with the manager and it's a wonderful place for the young high school students in our area to work at.

Day 39 - Back to work

It was very hard to get up today, after having two glorious weeks off. Busy today, you ask? YES I say...new students coming, old students going... That's what usually happens after Christmas Break. Plus I came back to work with a cold. Also something that also usually happens after Christmas Break.

Day 38 - talk about "unseasonable"!

WHAT??? Wait...this is January...you know, winter? WINTER!  Snow, ice, unbearable cold... WINTER! The little bit of snow we DO have will be gone...melted, nadda. This is just NOT how winter in my area is supposed to be!

Day 37 FINALLY we have SNOW!

*OK so with a gentle push from the founder of the 365 day photo challenge (by way of her post on Facebook) I'm reminded that I started this challenge and I need to continue and finish it! So, with that said, let me also say that even though there may still be some gaps in my (not so) daily picture postings, I will continue until I reach 365 pictures posted!*

Not much snow, mind you, but at least we HAVE some! Usually, by this time, we have lots more. It seemed very strange to see bare ground on Christmas Day.
