Brunch anyone?

This JUST came out of the oven, ready to take to our Christmas Brunch at school!  OH does it smell GOOD!  I'll be posting the recipe on my "main" blog later today.  YUMMMMM

I'm back

I know I don't have many followers, but I still would like to apologize for being gone for a period of time.
We had a death in the family and I just haven't been in the photo taking mood.
But I'm back today, with a photo and a recipe! The photo is here in my 365 blog, the recipe will be up on my main blog later today.

Day 36 - Last of the Fall leaves

Today we were out doing a bit more burning, and I thought I'd better get in one or two more shots of the fall leaves. As you can see, most have fallen from the trees. Soon they will be bare. Hubby will come in from outside soon and we'll have some lunch. Then it's off to my nail appt. Halloween painted nails will go away and my Nail Guy will paint some Fall leaves for Thanksgiving (hope he has time for it!)
Then it's off to town for a Birthday gift for our Grandson. He turns 7 next week!

Day - 35 Just another (Beautiful) Fall day...

It won't be much longer and we won't have any of these beautiful leaves. I'm obsessed with Autumn colors! I told my Hubby several days ago that someday I'd love to have every kind of fall color in our yard! How spectacular would THAT be??? Guess I'd better start doing my autumn color research!

Day 34 - Oregon Sunrise

This was the sunrise the day we drove to Portland. Beautiful! I really love the way the clouds change the entire look of things!

Day 33 - Trip to Portland

This is the beautiful Mt. Hood. Saturday we made our "monthly" trek to Portland, for two reasons. One, so my Hubby could deliver some computers to The Mac Store for work, and two, it gives us a great reason to visit our oldest Daughter and her family! We left at about 6am, made our "usual" stop at Starbucks, and got on the road. After the delivery of computers we went out to lunch and spent a good deal of time at IKEA. I'd forgotten how much FUN that place is! Of course we all found lots of furniture and "stuff" that we loved, and my Hubby found some good office furniture that he took pictures of.

Day 32 - My Grandchildren

OK so I'm breaking a rule here, this post is actually two pictures. This is in the "about me" category. These two beautiful kids are our Grandkids! I took a photography class at Macworld last January and learned to "fill the picture" with a face. Something I had never done before. I'm quite happy with the way both of these pictures turned out! Stay tuned...we have another grandchild "bun in the oven"!

Day 31 - Ready for Halloween

Here's what I did right after work today!  My nail guy does awesome art work! Hand painted, each nail is different! This summer he's going to do some "3D" nail art on me, I'm waiting till summer because he said it can take up to 5 hours to create one hand! He does it just for fun. The nails are WAYYY to long to be functional. I'll be sure to start posting his nail art!

Day 30 - My Story

This will be one of the only pictures not taken by me. I think it's time to start with my story! This is me and my family. Yes, I'm the short one of the gang. I'm glad our two daughters got their Dad's height! We are all pointing to our youngest daughter's tummy because she has a "bun in the oven"!!! More family pictures to come...

Day 29 - Last of the Summer flowers

We saw these while apple picking. My flowers at home are all pretty much dead or almost dead. Winter, however, brings its own beauty!

Day 28 - Cold weather is coming...

...or maybe it's here!  This morning's cold temps reminded me that winter is coming! This picture is what we call "frozen fog".  It's pretty awesome to see! Amazing to see the fog crystals formed on each pine needle!

Day 27 - More fall color!

Gosh, the fall colors of the Aspen's seemed to really pop out today! Hubby and I drove "to town" for lunch and a little shopping today, and some of the Aspens were SO vivid! Funny how, in the same yard, one can be totally yellow, another still half green and still another not changed at all. That crazy weather pattern of Central Oregon!

Day 26 - Burning season

This is why Fall is one of my favorite seasons.  We were up really early this morning and got about 3 hours of debris burning in. So relaxing to sit outside on a chilly morning with a cup of coffee! We still have a fairly significant amount to burn, but we'll get as much done as we can. After that it was time for some crafting fun! We had 6 women around the table, and had a blast making paper bag books, and my daughter worked on her own project. My Hubby had a nice football watching day!

Day 25 - Craft time!

We'll be making lots of these cute little scrunchy flowers on craft day. Great use for old books!

Day 24 - Scarecrow fun!

Aren't these guys cute? As I worked late night at conferences, this was my view. It's a bulletin board with a couple of announcements on it. The big guy was made by some staff, and those cute little scarecrows were made by our Special Programs kiddos. Pretty cute, eh?

Day 23 - Crock Pot season!

One of the things I love about the "colder" seasons is...my Crock Pot! Today's dinner is Chinese style country ribs!

Day 20 - The Vista House, Oregon

Beautiful way to end our family time yesterday, with a stop at The Vista House on the Columbia River Highway! I can never tire of this view!

Day 19 - Family field trip

Yesterday was our family "field trip" to Hood River, Oregon to go apple picking. This is an annual trek for us, and is always such a great family time.

Day 18 - Fire in the Sky

One of the things I LOVE about Autumn is the beautiful sunrises! The moisture, the clouds...it all has to be "just right" to see a morning like this!

Day 17 - God's Creation

This is just more of the beautiful area that I live in. I am Blessed to see this kind of view daily!

Day 16 - Snowflakes are COOL!

I hope you are all able to check this picture out closely! I had a picture all ready to post today, when my office manager shouted "Susan! It's SNOWING"!  Sure enough, it is! Not hard or cold enough to stick, but there it was. So, I scrapped the original picture and decided to post a picture of some snowflakes on our deck. This was taken with my little Kodak point & shoot, using my "close up" setting. Then I digitally enlarged it once it was downloaded onto my computer, and just LOOK at those snowflakes! Each and every one really is different!

Day 15 - I see you...

This beautiful fella was munching away in our yard a couple of years ago, and I was lucky enough to catch him just as he spotted me aiming the camera at him. We are "rural" and although it's not something we see too often, we do have these beautiful creatures hanging around at times.

Day 14 - Painted Waterfall

This was taken during a family outing over Memorial Day weekend. Yes, that's snow you see falling! It was lots of fun, with just enough snow for "the boys" to have a snowball fight!

When I first viewed this picture on my computer I really didn't like it. I've since changed my mind. It looks kind of like it's been painted onto a canvas or something, with the snowflakes in the foreground.

Day 12 - Happy October!

My "Nail Guy" did this great Halloween art on my nails last thursday night. This guy is really an artist when it comes to nails! Actually he is a "starving artist" nail tech. I've already received numerous compliments on how "cool" they look.

Day 10 - Reflections

This was an idea my oldest Daughter had while we were out for a walk after it had rained. What a beautiful reflection in a puddle on the road!

Day 9 Playing in the dark

This is one of my favorite pictures. A couple of years ago, while camping with Church family I wanted to play around with my camera as the kids were twirling their glow sticks around late at night. I tried different settings and caught this shot.

Day 8 Rose Garden

You know, one thing I'm learning in this 365 day photo challenge is that we live in a very colorful, very beautiful world!

Todays picture was taken in Forest Grove, OR. My Husband and I stayed at McMenamins, which was once a Masonic Lodge. (If you ever have a chance, GO there, it's beautiful!) They have an awesome rose garden, I had too much fun with my camera that day!

Day 7 - Feeding Frenzy

I have an Oregano plant that I neglected to trim up before it went to bloom. Wow, I'm glad! There have been literally hundreds of butterflies feeding off the thousands of flowers on that plant. I think I need to get another plant so I can keep one trimmed up for harvesting and leave one to flower for the butterflies. It was amazing to watch!

Day 6 - Family fun!

Yesterday my Husband and I spent the day with our oldest Daughter and her family. We went to a place called Oaks Park in Portland, OR.  Here is our Grandson, anxiously awaiting the start of the Frog ride. It was a GREAT family day!

Day 5 Flowers in the sky

This year, for the first time in 10 years my Husband and I didn't have a commitment on the July 4th Holiday as in years past. We spent the weekend with our Daughter, Son-in-Law and Grandson. I love taking pictures of the fireworks. I'll take at least a hundred, hoping for ONE good one. This is one of my favorites!

Day 3 - Corvallis, Oregon

 I couldn't post one of these without posting both. I chaperoned a middle school trip to the campus of OSU last year and saw these trees all over the campus! I don't know what they are, but aren't they beautiful?

Day 2 Newport, Oregon

My Husband and I stayed in Newport, Oregon for our Anniversary a couple of years ago. It was the first time we'd been to the coast in the 10 years we've lived in Oregon! Ah, the sights and smells of the coast...

Day 1 - Arkansas Flowers

I love photography! This 365 day photo challenge will be good for me. It will force me to really watch my surroundings! I always have a camera at hand, whether it's my iPhone, iPad2 or my DSLR, so I have no excuse NOT to take pictures every day!
